Elka Engineered Flooring is supplied in two thicknesses ; 14mm for a floating floor or a structural 22mm which can be laid directly onto floor joists instead of the more traditional chipboard. As the board is engineered (made up of layers of different materials) the benefit is twofold; the top face is a thick layer of real wood which can be sanded and re-finished, secondly the construction of the board makes it very stable thus allowing its use in a underfloor heating enviroment.
